In January, in Istanbul, Turkey a stray dog braving the rain and icy temperatures carried her dying puppy to the front door of a local veterinary clinic hoping they could save him.
Referring to the stray dog as "Mom," the staff took her infant and sprang into action.

At first, they could barely detect a heartbeat, and thought it was probably too late. "The animal is already cold as ice," veterinarian Baturalp Dogan told the Associated Press (AP).
But refusing to give-up, they frantically tried to resuscitate this baby.
According to the AP, the two-person team gave the puppy an adrenaline shot, and warmed him with a hair dryer. All the while Mom stood by, carefully watching the men with her baby.
And then, against all odds, the puppy was revived!
Not only did this tiny guy survive, but so did another litter mate neighbors had brought in earlier in the day.
"They are doing very well right now, they are in good health," said Dr. Dogan, referring to Mom and her two pups. "They are getting better day by day."
How did Mom know to bring her dying puppy to this veterinary clinic?
No-one knows for certain, but it is believed in the past, she had been treated there, and in a crisis knew just where to take her infant.
