As black acidic smoke rose high into the sky from a sinking Thai fishing boat, 4-kittens were in desperate need of a rescue.
The 8-member crew had abandoned the boat and with the boat sinking, the frightened kittens huddled together on a wooden beam awaiting their fate.
But then seemingly from nowhere, help arrived.

It was 23-year-old Thai sailor Thatsaphon Saii and his navy crew.
When a crew member spotted two of the kittens in his camera lens, "I immediately took off my shirt and put on a life jacket," sailor Saii told The Daily Mail.
"The flames were at the back of the boat, but it was starting to sink, so I knew I had to be quick."
In the choppy waters, he swam 50-feet to the sinking boat, put the kittens on his shoulder, neck and back and carefully swam them to safety.
When he reached his vessel, his crew pulled him and them onboard.
The kittens were healthy and unharmed but still trembling from their near-death experience.
Soon they were being lovingly cared for and fed by their rescuers, as animal lovers from all over the world praised this Thai crew for their compassionate rescue of these adorable kitties.
