Rita Pierson: An outstanding teacher and educator, with a great sense of humor.
In 2013, Rita passed away at the age of 61, after a remarkable 40-year teaching career and as a prominent speaker and advisor to teaching organizations across the U.S.
Rita, who held a doctorate in education, received numerous honors and awards for her work.
But it was her insight into people and her sense of humor that made her an excellent teacher and attracted a huge audience when she spoke publicly.
