A community unites to rescue 11 orphaned puppies.
While inspecting an abandoned building, Little Rock, Arkansas Officer Chace Hunton found a few day-old litter of orphaned puppies.
Chace was doubtful they would survive.
He thought to himself, 'I can't just leave them here,' so he scooped them up, put them in a box, and took them home, Best Friends Animal Society CEO Julie Castle told USA Today.

People brought in food and pet supplies, while others fed and bathed the puppies.
After hearing from Hannah, Laura Jones told Best Friends, "I had never done anything like this before, but Hannah sounded desperate."
"I volunteered to help bathe and feed the puppies, and when I arrived, I could see there was a lot to be done."
To supply the extensive care these pups would need, Hannah's sister, who works at Best Friends Animal Society in Bentonville, about three hours north of Little Rock, involved them.
Best Friends guided Hannah and the community with the puppies, including organizing veterinary care.
Despite all this effort, two puppies passed away. But the other nine puppies thrived, and all were adopted into loving homes.
"The whole experience tugged on my heartstrings for sure," said Laura.

"They didn't even weigh half a pound when I got them. I had to feed them with an eye dropper for a few days. And I cried when Gibbie (who Laura fostered) got picked up for adoption."
She also fostered Winnie, who she kept, to join her 4-year-old dog Kallie. "They play together so well," said Laura.
Winnie is also very smart and has already learned to sit, shake hands, and he's figured out the doggy door."
