Dear Reader, what I'm about to share with you is something special!
Fred Rogers (1928 - 2003), created and hosted Mister Rogers' Neighborhood which touched the hearts of millions of children and their families.
It touched mine as well because he lived a life of integrity and compassion and was not afraid to express his love.
Whenever anyone expresses their love as Mister Rogers often did in his words and actions, they become vulnerable, something he had the courage to do.
It is what our world desperately needs today.

His children's show, filmed in Pittsburgh, ran on PBS for 33-years (1968 to 2001) and is a classic still capturing hearts today in reruns. (Watch the intro, below.)
Last November 13th, for World Kindness Day, a beautiful event took place celebrating the show:
When special guest Joanne Rogers, Fred's wife of 50-years, arrived at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, she was joyously serenaded by the staff and many others.
Around them the nursery had been transformed with newborn babies wearing crocheted crimson cardigans, handmade by a UPMC nurse, and sneakers.

In this heartwarming way, they imitated Mister Rogers in his iconic cardigan and sneakers as he had welcomed generations of children to his show. Watch video.
After all these years what this reminds us is that kindness and compassion never go out of style, for we treasure them and we treasure Mister Rogers who was for us, their essence.
