Estella's Brilliant Bus
Estella and Willie Pyfrom are retired school counselors and teachers from West Palm Beach, Florida, who are nearing 80 years of age.
Four years ago, Estella and Willie used most of their life savings to launch "Estella's Brilliant Bus." The bus is a learning center filled with computers to teach poor children to use computers and to tutor them in a wide range of subjects, starting with self-respect.

For many of these children, their families had to make a choice, buy computers and subscribe to the Internet, or put food on the table.
Thanks to Estella, those families are no longer forced to make such a choice.

And even for those children who have access to computers in school, the tutoring they receive on that bus makes them much better students.
For no-one appreciates an education more than Estella.
The daughter of migrant farm workers who had little education, Estella began picking beans when she was just 6 years old.
But with the encouragement of her family, Estella graduated from college and added a Master's Degree as well and became a career educator.
She and Willie, who were high school sweethearts, and have been together for 62 years, raised four children, each of whom went to college.
But Estella knew the importance of computers to the future of today's children and knew she had to do something to help those children in need, which led her to create Estella's Brilliant Bus.
In addition, because that bus goes into poor neighborhoods, Estella added other services as well, serving as a mobile food bank, for it is hard to teach children who are hungry.
To date, Estella's Brilliant Bus has touched the lives of thousands of children and their families, and through the Internet with corporate sponsors such as Cisco, Microsoft and Verizon, she hopes to touch far more.
"We are determined, Estella said. "We are going to go across the country, across the world," as she hopes to teach children everywhere, with the support of sponsors, and with the support of people such as you and me.
