A cat who miraculously survived a 38-story fall.
To put this in perspective, 38-stories is the height of New York's towering Seagram Building.
Last April 29th, in Bryce Canyon, Utah, according to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office, a couple with their cat in a pet carrier, allegedly climbed over the railing atop the park's Grand Staircase.
They subsequently and tragically fell 38-stories to their deaths. No one knows what exactly happened.
While rescue crews searched for this couple, they spotted the pet carrier. Checking that carrier they found the seemingly impossible, a 12-year-old kitty who had survived the fall.

This cat was traumatized and bruised, and suffering from broken ribs and some damaged teeth. The rescue organization rushed her to a Las Vegas veterinary hospital.

There, they also treated her for fluid on her heart. But she was alive, and healing, miraculous in the eyes of many, as the rescue organization named her Mirage, for her miracle.
She made a full recovery.
Utah Department of Public Safety pilot Chelsea Tugaw was among the search and rescue team that rescued Mirage and was amazed she survived.
But now this miracle kitty had no home. So, Chelsea came to the rescue again, adopting her.
"I'm so ecstatic to be taking Mirage home," said Chelsea. "I hope I can give her the perfect retirement life and let her be a nice lazy cat in her old age."
Said Judah Battista of the Best Friends Animal Society:
"This reunion offers a glimmer of hope and light to a tragic beginning, and we're thrilled that Mirage will live out her golden years in such a loving home with Chelsea."
"We couldn't ask for a better ending for this sweet girl."
