Buford the dog rescues two-year-old boy lost in the wilderness.
On April 14, 2025, while his mother was changing his one-year-old brother's diaper and his dad was working on the roof, toddler Bodin Allen wandered away from his Seligman, Arizona home and into the wilderness.
His parents were frantic, and they called for help!
Bodin's parents were joined by the Yavapai County Search and Rescue Team, which searched night and day on foot, on 4x4s and in the air, without success.
For 16 hours, this little boy had nothing to eat or drink, while meandering through rough terrain of brush, rocks, and trees, in canyons whose wildlife includes mountain lions and coyotes.

And then Buford, rancher Scotty Dunton's Great Pyrenees dog, who guards the ranch perimeters, and guides livestock home, found Bodin in the wilderness, a mile from the ranch, and guided him to Scotty.
Little Bodin was perplexed, hungry and filthy but in remarkably good condition and was returned to his parents.
"The worst living nightmare parents could ever feel," Corey Allen, Bodin's dad, told NBC 12 News Arizona.
But to the Allen family and to many others, this was a miracle!
For two-year-old Bowdin had wandered seven miles through dangerous terrain, and threats to his life all around him only to be guided safely home by Buford, a giant teddy bear of a dog.
