Bowls for Food: Donate to a foodbank; receive a beautiful handmade wooden bowl.
In 2020, as the pandemic took hold and many people were desperate for food, Boston furniture maker Michael Mittelman sprang into action.
He began collecting top quality scraps of wood, turned on his lathe and began creating beautiful bowls, which he continues to do today.
And to make them even more special, he completes each bowl with a minimum of three coats of finish. In all, it can take Michael several hours of work per bowl.

You need only make a donation to a foodbank of your choice, preferably in the $100 - $200 range and send Michael a photo of your receipt.
In turn, he will send you your beautiful new bowl, one that is practical and a wonderful reminder of how you helped others in need. He signs and dates each bowl.
To date, donors have contributed over $25,000 to foodbanks.
But there is a problem. These bowls have become so popular, that Michael is struggling to meet the demand. Every few weeks, he has bowels available again.
To see the bowels as they come available, please visit his website or Facebook page, information which is shown below in "Editor's Note."
