Bella Marshall: A 3rd Grader who helps to feed poor children
Many people assume there is little they can do to help others in need. This is the story of an 8-year-old girl who knows better.
(Story continues from "Read More")
One day in the school cafeteria, a little boy tried to buy lunch, but he didn’t have enough money.
“He felt embarrassed,” Bella said, “because all of the kids were teasing and I just thought that wasn’t nice.”
Bella discussed this with her mother and they decided to do something about it
They formed Bella’s Blessings and over the summer they setup a GoFundMe account on social media, while Bella also held a craft fair.
The goal was to raise $500, but people were so moved by Bella’s Blessings, Bella raised $1100, which she gave to her elementary school.
This money will be used to discreetly pay for school lunches for children who can’t afford them, and to pay for their field trips as well.
“It doesn’t matter how big you are or how much money you have,” said Bella’s mother, “you can make a difference. We’re very proud.”
