Anita Moorjani: A life-changing visit into death.
On February 2, 2006, Anita, then nearly 47-years-old had battled cancer for four years, when her ravaged 85-pound body fell into a coma, her organs shutdown and she died.
(Story continues from "Read More")
Yet in death Anita was aware of everything happening around her.
She could see her body lying in bed and the frantic activity to bring her back, the presence of her loved ones, and a vastly expanded awareness of the universe.
It was "a realm of clarity … where I understood everything."
In a metaphor for what she experienced, Anita described it as each of us living in a vast, "pitch-black" warehouse and with "a little flashlight," we see only the tiniest part of that warehouse.
But in death, "flood lights" light up that warehouse and we see how vast life truly is.
During that time, Anita learned powerful lessons, which she describes as "The 5 Biggest Lessons I learned" about life.
She had no desire to return to this life.
But then she heard her father, and her best friend, both of whom had passed away, telling her it was not her time to pass, and that she would have to return to her ravaged body.
Anita came back into her body and awoke from her coma. The doctors could not explain it.
Nor could they explain how within five days her cancerous tumors had shrunk by 70% or how five weeks later, she was cancer free. She was released from the hospital
Since then, Anita has thrived and she has written a bestselling book, "Dying to Be Me," explaining what happened and the important lessons she learned.
She reveals "The 5 Biggest Lessons I learned" to you in a compelling 18-minute TED talk. Please click on http://www.karmatube.org/videos.php?id=7626
